Current Density Imaging:
FMi can design and perform customized current density imaging experiments to meet specific requirements.
Measurements of current density vector fields are useful for proving the performance and capabilities of a
variety of electrophysiological devices such as medical electrodes and medical electrode arrays. In a
typical experiment, the electrodes would be placed in a gel or saline phantom, current is passed through
the electrodes and the current density vector field is measured in the gel/saline. These measurements can
then be used to verify theory and simulations regarding performance of the electrodes. Ex-vivo tissue
models and in-vivo animal models are also possible for further verification. Such verifications can
enhance applications to the FDA for medical device approval.
Other Services:
FMi can provide mechanical and electronic design and prototyping. FMi works with and recommends
ForJay Machine Shop for mechanical prototyping.
